How the program works and the day-to-day experience you can expect:

Investment Banking interns play an important supporting role to their teams in the origination and execution of capital markets and financial advisory transactions for corporate and institutional clients globally. Jefferies’ lean deal team structure affords interns the opportunity to work closely with senior bankers on pitches and live deals. Interns are encouraged to think creatively and add value to the team from day one, and are expected to pursue their projects with excellence, a collaborative spirit, and with the highest levels of integrity.

Intern responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing financial valuation
  • Building financial models
  • Preparing pitchbooks and live deal materials
  • Conducting industry and product research
  • Analysing detailed corporate and financial information
  • Participating in the execution of M&A, capital markets transactions and other advisory services

What we look for in a candidate

Successful Jefferies interns must demonstrate professionalism and client management skills together with strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills. The work is fast paced, intense and intellectually stimulating. The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, be adaptable and work both independently and as part of a team are essential traits of a successful candidate. You should have a strong academic background. Although a background in accounting or finance is helpful, we hire Interns who have studied a variety of disciplines.
