Remember David Sismey of Goldman Sachs? He's not at Goldman Sachs any more. Sismey seemingly quit in the past few weeks. Rumour has it he's going into politics.
This matters, because as Brexit teeters on the edge of existence, Sismey is likely to be among those cheering for it to be actualised. He was one of more than 300 business signatories to a letter in favour of Brexit before the referendum in 2016 and is a Conservative councillor at his home in Maldon in Essex.
Sismey joined Goldman from JPMorgan Cazenove in 2006, originally as a VP. He was promoted to MD in 2009 and was latterly co-head of Financial Institutions Group (FIG) debt capital markets (DCM).
Neither Goldman nor Sismey responded to requests to comment on his exit.
