Chez Morgan Stanley, deux Managing Directors fraîchement nommés à Paris (parmi les 144 nouveaux promus dans le monde)

Morgan Stanley a dévoilé en fin de semaine dernière la liste de ses nouveaux managing directors. Le cru 2013 compte seulement 144 professionnels, la plus petite promotion depuis 2008, et dont seulement 17,4% de femmes.

Nous avons analysé la liste et essayé d’identifier les divisions et les pays dans lesquels étaient basés ces MD fraîchement promus. La banque d’investissement, sans surprise, domine. Néanmoins les professionnels de la très rentable activité de gestion de fortune – qui ont largement échappé aux suppressions de postes – figurent en bonne place.

Les Etats-Unis et la Grande-Bretagne fournissent à nouveau le gros des troupes cette année. On remarque aussi une forte proportion de professionnels basés en Asie, avec Hong Kong en tête devant Singapour. La France ne compte que deux nouveaux MD – tous deux dans la division banque d’investissement. Il s’agit de Julien Weber, analyste en charge du secteur des groupes financiers (FIG) et Bernard Mourad, analyste en charge du secteur Medias & Telecom. Les autres français apparaissant dans la liste sont ailleurs, basés soit à Londres (Maxence Mesny) soit à Hong Kong (Sylvain Mayrargue).

Enfin, malgré les débats entourant la montée du recours aux technologies aux dépens des employés de front-office, la division IT demeure sous-représentée (10 personnes, soit 7% du total).

La liste n’est pas totalement exhaustive. Morgan Stanley n’a pas souhaité commenté sur les divisions et les pays représentés dans ce classement.
