Various people are starting new finance jobs in London this August. Most will have signed contracts and negotiated notice periods several months ago and timed their arrival for after their summer holiday. Nonetheless, it's notable that there's significant 'activity.'

One of the biggest arrivals is in Morgan Stanley's London-based market risk division. Joining this month is Anne-Juliette Laurencin, a new head of EMEA market risk. Laurencin has just arrived from JPMorgan, according to her LinkedIn profile. She spent her entire 19-year career in banking with JPM, until now.

Laurencin isn't the only woman in a top role at Morgan Stanley in London. The head of EMEA and CEO of Morgan Stanley International is Clare Woodman, a former risk officer for the bank's global capital markets division.

Laurencin graduated from HEC Paris in 2000. She began her career in credit exotics trading before moving onto the CVA desk and then into risk.

Morgan Stanley didn't immediately respond to a request to comment.
