Most banks close summer analyst (AKA summer intern) applications in October. They also spend the next few months touring 'target universities' and networking with students.

Goldman Sachs student challenge EMEA: Goldman Sachs is running a competition that's open to UK students who will graduate in 2017. Students are required to, 'demonstrate their analytical, creative and strategic thinking by presenting innovative solutions in response to one of three real business challenges.' Tech crack the case competition: KPMG's UK technology consulting practice is running a competition for teams of 2-4 undergraduate students, The competition, which will, 'be a test of your ability to work with real problems and come up with creative solutions,' starts on November 24th. Holt Valuation Challenge: Credit Suisse is sponsoring this year's Holt Valuation Challenge. If you want to work in M&A or research, this is the competition for you. South West Universities Finance Conference - trading and asset management: Bristol, Bath and Exeter University finance societies are running a conference in Bristol on November 8th.
