This time next week, bankers at Goldman Sachs should know their bonuses for 2011. Morgan Stanley will follow shortly after. Everywhere else will come after that. Here’s the bonus announcement and payment schedule for the next few months – as we understand it (feel free to suggest amendments if you disagree).
Goldman Sachs will announce its fourth quarter results on January 18th and is expected to announce its bonuses next week. Partner managing directors are likely to be told before, and may even learn their numbers this week. Goldman bonuses are typically paid at the end of January.
Morgan Stanley has yet to schedule its fourth quarter results, but is expected to announce its bonuses late next week. Payment is expected to be the first week of February.
JPMorgan will announce its fourth quarter results on January 13th. Headhunters say the bank typically announces its bonuses around the 20th and pays at the very end of the month.
Bank of America Merrill Lynch
BofA has yet to schedule its fourth quarter results, but is expected to announce bonuses around Jan 23rd and to pay mid-February.
Credit Suisse is expected to announce its bonuses around January 25th and paid them in mid-February.
Typically announces last week of January, pays in March.
Deutsche is expected to announce its bonuses in the first week of February and to pay in the second week of February.
Same as Deutsche, although payment may be a little later.
Typically announces third week of February, pays in fourth week or early March.
Expected to announce early March, pay end of March.
Same as BNP Paribas.
Announces first week of March. Pays last week of March.
Usually announces late April.
