If you’re a banking sector accountant in Singapore searching for a new job or looking for a promotion, it’s useful to know what sort of salary you should be aiming for.
We’ve reviewed recent base pay surveys from several recruitment agencies in Singapore across six key accounting functions within global banks: financial control, internal audit, management reporting, product control, regulatory reporting, and tax.
We’ve then averaged out the numbers to produce the salary table below, which covers five seniority ranks from analyst to director.
Of the six accounting jobs, internal audit is the best to work in if you want a high senior salary – VPs earn S$190k (US$137k) a year on average, while directors take home S$286k (US$206k).
The internal audit function is still experiencing strong hiring coupled with skill shortages.
“It’s a candidate-driven market and top auditors moving banks generally receive two or more job offers and can expect salary increments of 18% to 25%,” says Paul Endacott, managing director, Southeast Asia, at recruiters Ambition in Singapore.
