One of Goldman Sachs' ex-top strats set up a little advisory business

Remember Bobby Vedral? He's the former Goldman Sachs partner who managed cross asset global market strats for Goldman's securities division. Vedral left Goldman in March and has just turned up running a little advisory operation of his own.

Titled 'Macro Eagle', Vedral's new venture revolves around a series of monthly macro-focused newsletters in which he shares his opinions on everything from Brazil, Brexit, Italy and Turkey to Elon Musk smoking pot. If you want to sign-up you can seemingly email info@macroeagle.com to get in on the mailing list.

Macro Eagle only seems to employ Vedral, who retired from Goldman aged 44. He says the business is running until Brexit takes place and that he's already busy helping build connections between Europe and London for a post-Brexit world. Instead of complaining about Brexit, Vedral says he's trying to, "make a positive contribution via constructive ideas and using my network. It is actually incredibly interesting."

Vedral drew ire in the UK in November 2017 when he made a speech at a private equity conference in Amsterdam where he said that the weakness of the UK government was "scary" and that a government led by Jeremy Corbyn would be a "disaster." “If we have Corbyn, we have Cuba without the sun,” said Vedral, who is German. He added that the Labour Party would likely raise taxes on the wealthy and drive bankers and banking jobs to Europe.
