Far be it for us to say that particular banks have a particular look going on, but as it's Friday and it's worth noting that several of the senior men of UBS seem to have a certain similarity about them. The UBS look, seen on the bank's own website, involves swept back silver hair, a healthy tan, and dark eyebrows. Chief executive Sergio Ermotti, CEO to the investment bank Andrea Orcel and chief executive to the global asset management group Ulrich Kommer, are all sporting it, as shown in the thumbnails below.

What does it say about UBS that its most senior bankers like a look akin to that of Roger Sterling in Mad Men? You tell us. But we'd like to suggest that growing a beard may not go down well if you want to get to the top at the Swiss bank. By comparison, beardiness might be more acceptable at Goldman Sachs, where Lloyd Blankfein and Pablo Salame, co-head of the securities division, are just a few of the facially hirsute members of the management committee.
