Crash boosts job market

Jonathan Williams, managing director of Michael Page City, says: ‘Repatriation of investment banking staff to London from Hong Kong and Singapore is speeding up following the dramatic decrease in levels of activity in Far Eastern stock markets. If they are good quality people they will find jobs quite easily.’

Michael Page City increased turnover by 22% in the six months to July. ‘These results show we are maintaining our position as the City’s favourite recruiter with more than twice the number of recruitment advertisements in the Wednesday edition of the Financial Times as Robert Walters,’ said Williams.

MPC placed 80 advertisements in the six month period compared to 38 by Walters, 33 by CJA, 28 by Jonathan Wren and 22 by SHP.
