Citadel Adds Former Lehman Fixed Income Execs

Oct 7 2008

Scott Krady

Citadel Investments said it hired Timothy Bryan Wilkinson, John Alexander Goodridge and Alex Maddox, moves that will expand the firm’s capabilities in global fixed income. All three join the Chicago hedge fund from Lehman Brothers.

Wilkinson served as head of fixed income proprietary trading at Lehman and will join Citadel’s proprietary trading group along with John Alexander Goodridge, also from Lehman. Alex Maddox was named Citadel’s head of securitized products in Europe. They will report to Patrick Edsparr, who recently joined the firm as head of global fixed income and chief executive of Citadel Europe.

Before running prop trading in fixed income at Lehman, Wilkinson was a European bond option market maker at Merrill Lynch. Goodridge was a senior prop trader at Lehman, and before that was a senior fund manager at Shooter Fund Management in London. Maddox spent 14 years with Lehman in London and most recently was managing director of securitized products trading. While there he established Lehman’s mortgage trading desk.

Citadel has bulked up overseas as it expands its global footprint in Europe and beyond. Last month the firm added former Merrill Lynch execs Tobia Gehrke and Anita Nasser to lead the firm’s capital development efforts in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. “Citadel continues to attract top talent from across the industry as we strengthen our business on a global scale,” said Edsparr.
