These investment banks are now inviting graduate applications for 2017

Applying to investment banks

Banks' graduate applications are go

It’s on. If you want a graduate job or a summer internship with a leading investment bank in 2017, you may now apply.

Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley, UBS and Credit Suisse have all opened their EMEA graduate application processes as of today. You might want to apply soon: as we noted previously, J.P. Morgan recruits on a first come first serve basis and banks’ recruiters say the earliest and most switched-on applicants are often the highest calibre.

The August start to the application process seems early. Victoria McLean, a former recruiter at Goldman Sachs and CEO of City CV, says banks are inviting applications earlier than before. This may have something to do with competition for top students from other industries, like technology – although Goldman Sachs surely has nothing to worry about after receiving 224,000 student applications last year.

Not all banks are welcoming graduates yet though. Citi, Bank of America, Deutsche and Barclays are only expected to open their doors in September.
