These are the people leaving Nomura, BAML, CS and Citi before bonus time

Quitting

As we enter the fourth quarter and come closer to bonus time, it seems the people who are leaving banking jobs are either very senior or moderately junior (think associate-level).

The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) Register shows who’s coming and going from registered positions at top banks in the City of London. Unfortunately, it doesn’t indicate whether those people are leaving of their own volition or as a result of cost cutting measures. In general, people quitting banks voluntarily this close to bonuses expect to be compensated for their loss of income. From this we deduce that while some people may have found better jobs elsewhere, not everyone below will have left of their own accord.

Based on the FCA Register, here’s who left Nomura in London in the past month:

Gabriel De La Rica, an associate.

Based on the FCA Register, here’s who left Citigroup in London in the past month:

Gordon Chua, a rates trader.

Mehdi Guissi, an asset liability management professional.

Robert Snell, head of the global subsidiaries group.

Based on the FCA Register, here’s who left Credit Suisse in London in the past month:

Richard Kemmish, head of covered bond origination.

Ryan Metcalf, an analyst.

Chris Ossowski, an M&A banker (either senior associate or junior VP level).

Hugh Shields, head of finance for EMEA.

Matthew Tagliani. EMEA Head of Index Sector and ETFs.

Colin Warschau, an asset backed securitisation professional of unspecified rank.

Lei Gu , a member of the Equity Derivatives and Systematic Strategies at Merrill Lynch.

  1. Just goes to show how slow the financial careers are in London these days. 7 years ago these moves would hardly been noticed.
