RBS Adds FX Trading Chief for Americas

Sep 11 2008

Scott Krady

Royal Bank of Scotland said it hired Christiane Mandell from Bank of America as head of FX and local markets trading for the Americas, a new position that rounds out RBS’ senior management team in its U.S. sales and trading business.

Mandell led the global foreign exchange group at Bank of America. In her 18 years there, her past roles included head of investor client management for debt and equity, head of fixed income institutional sales and global head of FX sales and research.

RBS said her addition will allow the bank to build on the growth in FX that came with absorbing ABN AMRO's wholesale banking business. "Christiane's expertise and knowledge will be key in successfully managing these opportunities," RBS said. Based in Greenwich, Conn., Mandell will report to Symon Drake-Brockman, head of markets for the Americas.
