Duff Capital Expands Team

Aug 12 2008

Scott Krady

Duff Capital Advisors added two new investment teams and several senior executives, as the institutionally-focused alternative investment firm continues its expansion since launching in March of this year.

Vedula Murti joined the New York office and will lead a new team investing in long/short opportunities in the utilities and merchant power sectors. He was a senior portfolio manager at Tribeca Global Management. Before that he worked at SAC Capital Management. Marvin Caze, who worked with Murti at Tribeca, will also join the team.

Duff also created a team to invest in long and short opportunities in various financial services sub-sectors. The team is led by Morid Kamshad, who was a portfolio manager for Pequot Capital Management's global financial services fund and also worked at Amaranth Advisors.

The firm also said it hired Andrew Wilder, a co-founder and chief operating officer at North Sound Capital, as its chief financial officer. Mike Khorrami, who oversaw credit and fixed-income strategies at Millennium Advisors, joins Duff as managing director of the investment manager sourcing group. Duff also named Charles Lerner, who was at Dillon Read Capital Management, as chief compliance officer.
