PE Firm Hires UBS Leveraged-Finance Chief

Apr 28 2008

Jon Jacobs

The parade of bank department heads and other star dealmakers moving from bulge-bracket institutions to private equity firms continued unabated in April.

John Sinik left UBS - where he headed both leveraged finance and the private equity advisory group - to join Towerbrook Capital Partners LP, according to Bloomberg News. He's set to start at Towerbrook in London on May 1. He worked at Deutsche Bank before coming to UBS two years ago.

His move came just days after JPMorgan Chase's financial sponsors group leader John Coyle defected to Permira, a leading European private equity firm.

Towerbrook was spun out of George Soros's fund-management business three years ago and is raising its third private-equity and distressed-debt fund, according to Bloomberg.
