I am completing my masters in business, I had minored in finance. I also have experience with web design and development. My aim is to get into institutional trading, preferrably a fast market environment, like futures. I came accross several internship opportunities in UK. Overall I have 18 years of experience as a small business enterprenuer (max 60 range employees), How should I start my career in finance? and what area is best?

Not that I'm the right person to ask - I have a similar background and should really listen to my own advice, but typical paths into finance for non-finance people are either Equity Research or Investment Banking. I would go with Investment Banking if I were you, it's the last chance you will have to do it. Literally, the day you graduate MBA you go to the lateral recruiting pile where you'll be considered less qualified than an analyst out of undergrad having only 1 year or less experience. Sounds ridiculous, but that is really the way it is. Putting in your time in IB (2-5 years) will be a launching pad for many other opportunities given your background. It's really about earning your stripes more than anything but all other finance opportunities pretty much can be reached from there.
