Answer this question"Proppy" is just kidding or he/she is a prop trader and hates oneself or he doesn't know what he/she is talking about. prop trading(risk taking) will always exist because that's what business is. it's just purest form of it. i've been a prop trader for 18+ years and if you're good at it(you never know until you try), one of the few ways to make money most people can only dream of. get an MBA or some other advanced degree and get a job at investment bank of large commercial bank. just apply and see while keeping other options open as well. good luck. get books about trading and read, "market wizards" and "reminiscence of a stock operator" are good place to start.

Try another career is my advice. banks are "de-proping" not adding to prop. if you did not already know this you are not smart enough to be a good trader.
