I graduated with a degree in Political Science but am interested in beginning a career in finance. How should I get started?
I graduated in Summer 2007 with a degree in Political Science. I'm interested in beginning a career in corporate finance but am unsure of how to get started. Do I need to go back and get a second undergrad? Can I get an entry level job without prior finance experience? I'm currently employed as an academic staff person with an education research project at my alma mater. I'm enrolled in a Certified Financial Planning program at Northwestern but am really interested in corporate finance. Any suggestions??

you could apply for an investment banking position but all the major programs won't be recruiting fall 2009 plus you would need a gpa greater than 3.5 plus strong extracurricular activities to register on their radar. by the way, credible schools do not grant second bachelor's degrees after completion of a first. the best advice is that you should speak to a counselor at your school since you are working there. one last bit of important advice. if you have little to no mathematical skills (i.e. no calculus, no linear algebra, no probability, etc.), I would highly recommend you take those courses.
