  • My advice to you is to go for it. I'm 35 and heading back to school for an MS accounting degree en route to my CPA. I spent the last 9 years in equipment financing after having earned an MBA degree. I could care less about what people think about me in terms of age. Just get out there and do it. Keep trying. Get your CPA and if no one wants you then start your own practice and enjoy success on your own terms. I wish you well.

  • Age is no barrier to pursuing CPA - I would suggest a CPA Prep Course (e.g. Becker) and more importantly taking up a position with the Big4 or other well known CPA firms; there is no substitute to gaining hands on experience with the accounting firms.
