Answer this questionbest advice if you are in a stable company I would stay put - after all you don't want to move and be last in first out. There will be many qualified experienced professionals on the street now who will take paycuts just to stay in the game and if I were you I would wait until the markets improve. In the interim you may consider doing some exams or additional qualifications to position when the markets recover. Sorry it is not more positive but I think those already in jobs without experience should just sit tight!

Why not learn to trade from home or go prop?

Having CFA will get you foot in the door. Hedge Funds are very selective and they have many candidates in the market right now to choose from. Keep trying, you will get some experience in the interview process and when the market improves, you know how to position yourself very strongly.

In current conditions I see little chance of them hiring you. With so many redundencies and options open to employers to choose hose with prior experience. No harm in trying but don't be disappointed if it doesn't happen. Maybe research is a possibility with you accounting background.
