i am a mba with 10 years credit experience and want to join UN/World bank. Any advice?

Answer this questionThanks Johnny A - my experience is specific to lending and i think that developmental banking as opposed to commercial banking is more like it....but the sector switch would have to be at the regional level to leverage on my past experience. Again, thanks for the advice as i go on to chase my dreams....

UN/World Bank is pretty general. I think you mean to look at either the IFC, IMF or the World Bank (UN programs like UNCTAD, UNICEF, etc might not be what you're looking for). Another question is what kind of credit risk have you done and to try to map that to departments in the aforementioned institutions. For example, if you've done sovereign risk, then certainly the IMF or WB would be an option. A lot of the positions at the IMF, however, involve economists, so another question would be how your educational background and experience gives you some economic insight.
