If I passed CFA Level 1 in 2003,should I include it in CV?

Will it add value or in fact decrease my chances? I does have the intention to continue oit in the future though

  • If u do not intent to complete it it is tricky. If u did add it have an answer ready as to y you d not want to complete it

  • Depends on the job you are pursuing. If going into inv. mgmt, then they essentially require it.

  • You should mention your Level I on your CV. You should also put some thought into formulating a good solid answer for the likely interview question about why you didn't continue in the CFA program. Having Level I under your belt raises a candidate's perceived competitiveness for many jobs, most especially those for which a full CFA charter is most desired - portfolio management, or buy-side or sell-side research. The rub is that prospective employers will indeed wonder why you stopped at Level I. They are likely to put that question to you if you get an interview. You posted above that you do intend to resume the CFA program. Even if you tell them that, an employer might follow up by asking whether you're registered for the next exam, and if not, why not. You'll need to have a good, believable answer. But your CV itself won't state the year you passed Level I - so mentioning Level I on your CV could help you get an interview you would not have gotten otherwise. Therefore, you have little to lose by including it.
