Hi,

I have recently immigrated to Australia and am trying to start my career here. But the biggest challenge I am facing is Aussie experience ! The bad job market further aggravates my situation.

I have been in Investment Banking, working across PE, M&A and ECM, for the last 5 years. I have gained plenty of global experience working with leading and largest PE funds, Institutional Funds and Global Corporates. I thought this global experience will be counted here as it assures the employer of my ability to interact and work in Australia.

However, it seems recruiters are very very particular when trying to match my profile with client’s requirements. I strongly feel that I can demonstrate strong abilities and aptitude to achieve the targeted goals, but am stuck in a chicken and egg situation.

Unless, I begin to work here how I am supposed to build Aussie experience? will appreciate advice from both recruiters and job seekers here.
