Question: I’ve just graduated with a BSc In Financial Economics, I’m wondering would it be better If I do an MSc In finance or a CFA?

  1. It depends ultimately on what you want to, but I’d get your CFA under your belt as soon as you can, it’s globally recognised and is a common benchmark qualification within the investment community. It will have a greater impact on your career development and earnings than an MSc in Finance.

…and if you can’t get a job in these markets. Do both!

  2. Hi,

This question is impossible to answer without knowing which direction you want to go in during your career and also not knowing what MSC you are looking to do! For certain careers it is better to have an MSC for others the CFA. Also I am assuming you got a 2.1 or above in your undergraduate degree as without this neither qualification will help you to get on a formal graduate programme.

    Good luck,
