I graduated from university in june 2010 and have been working since then as an operations analyst in a hedge fund. At the time, I thought it was what I wanted to do in the long term but since then ive decided I want become a macro economics researcher…. I did economics and european studies at university but I cant decide if I need to do a masters (i was looking at economics or economic history) or if doing the CFA course would be the better path?
Question: After 2 years working in operations, what course do I need to do to become an economics research analyst?

If you want to become an economics research analyst you will almost certainly need to do a masters. The CFA is unlikely to be of that much help.
