I have always been in real estate, modeling spreadsheet for assets or funds, rather than companies.
Now I interviewd with an asset manager which is also investing in Private Equity. Apparently the guy liked me, and said that the switch from RE to PE might take a couple of weeks to get familiar with “their” modeling and spreadsheets.
So I wonder if there is anything you might suggest me to read, like a manual about companies valuation, a textbook, a primer on PE modeling, or some sort of this. I thought I might read all this in order to gain some time and advantage. A friend (banker) is willing to lend me the valuation book his top tier IB gave him, but it’s just hardcopy, no pdf.
thanks in advance
