I’m currently the group financial systems manager of a FTSE 100 company. However, I feel that my career will be better served by leaving systems and moving into the a Financial Controller role, as atleast in our company the latter position has a higher pay, more respect and opportunities. I’m a CIMA grad (back in 2000) with an MBA from
Warwick (+plus a few other IT quals). What advice would you give me to move to an FC role? An qualifications that I should study for? I’ve built most of the treasury, cash flow and IS and BS reports/models, and have a good grasp of IFRS.
Question: Financial Systems/Modelling to Financial Controller.
