Have been asking same question with no feedback.Wish somebody would help have computer exp too.
how about you sign up for phd progoram in quant area?
The rubbish sort, if you continue to spell like that.
For your typing you seem Indian. Regardless of whatever technical training you might have; please do not forget that the main skills are those of personality and proper communication. Typing without vowels, and proper punctuation might be quite popular on Indian online chatting room, but I doubt it would impress any serious banker or professional elsewhere.
Just a piece of advice!
Chill out Mr Nerdy. Its quite silly of u to make assumptions about all Indians based on typing skills of one person.goes to show how dubious your deduction skills are!!!The fact is,only about 200 odd charecters are allowed while asking questions on this site so omissions are acceptable as long as people understand what you are trying to ask. This is not an essay writing competition afterall!!btw,it is FROM your typing not FOR your typing. If you wish to correct someone else atleast get your typing and grammar correct first…
To Proudtobeindian!
From your comments, I can see you are not a very open minded person who accepts corrections. I am not an expert in English writing, but I do it as proper as possible both because I devoted time to learn as much as I can. I am not Indian, but I do have many Indian friends, hence the immediate recognition of that type of typing. It is simply not correct, and not COOL if you ask me!
Let me remind you the this website is a serious, professional-oriented website, so you should write as professionally as possible, not only here but anywhere where you are not writing to your “online buddies”
One mistake or two are always acceptable, as long as they are not the result of some effort to look “Cool” while typing. Instead of spending time getting that “skill” to type without vowels or omitting several letters in a word, why don’t you spend that time and effort in learning proper English grammar, spelling and punctuation:)??? It is fun and might prove worth it!
And finally, my mistake comes from 1) the fact that I am not a native English speaker, and 2) I forgot the very important skill of proofreading, thanks for reminding me. I appreciate it!
Thanks Problemtobeindian! There is a constraint on the number of characters that can be used to post a question. I don’t think John Gill and Mr.Nerdy are aware of that. This forum is meant to answer professional questions and not to argue about who speaks better english. Also, I don’t think my question was in anyways unprofessional.
Till now I have received only one proper response.
Noke Ed- I am pursuing CFA. Don’t you think that is good enough to land me a job in Research? I am ready to join as a fresher in Equity Research.
To John Gill and Mr.Nerdy
It’s obvious that the reason for the question being spelt this way was due to the character limit,so your response doesn’t say much about your analytical skills.I hope neither of you is in Finance if your counting / analytical skills are so weak.
@John Gill – If you have nothing constructive to say, then kindly refrain from making irrelevant comments to pamper your ego by putting others down.It adds no value to this community.
@Mr.Nerdy – I doubt this person was trying to look”Cool” as you put it,having completed MBA and CFA level 1 this person doesn’t need to appear “cool”.Who would this person be trying to impress by appearing”cool”?You or John Gill, who haven’t helped in any way?As far as knowledge of English goes, you appear to be worse off, with more than ten grammatical errors in two posts. You would be better off spending more time learning the language yourself rather than spending time on this forum and advising others about their language skill.
Thanks Mr. Nerdy for your advice to ‘all Indians’. My protest is not on correcting people, I very much agree that given the nature of forum it may not be appropriate to use this kind of typing style.
But on any forum I object to this type of generalization and stereotyping.

Nine responses and the question still unanswered. Quiet honestly – its tought to land job in i-banking in the ME region without any experience. I think certain banks recruit freshers from local unis @ the Know.Village. I have been told that in the ME, it is the “know who” which is more important than the “know how”. My suggestion would be to keep your options open to other areas of ibanking (corporate finance/M&A etc.), not merely equity reasearch.
