Does it not depend to some extent on the sector you work in? I know that benefits-wise you should be expecting accommodation allowance, flight allowance, schools if you have kids. In terms of base, doesn’t the nature of your role mean that you get the majority of your package dependent on what you bring in? I was under the impression one of the selling points of Dubai was that bonuses were uncapped…
Thanks for the reply. I agree – It does depend on the sector – this role would be part of the Securities/ Global Markets Division – heavily bonus based – just wasn’t certain whether those standard provisions for expats such as flight allowance/ accom and etc would apply at Analyst level… and also wasn’t sure of market value placed on Analysts in Sales/ trading in Dubai.
I think it’s very much still focused on getting the guys who are able to structure the products to sell, as most of the markets in the region are still lacking people with experience and skill to do so. Still, if you can develop relationships and bring in deals for the bank, you’re just as valued. I would have thought all levels offer similar expat packages, but to varying degrees of generousity. Presumably you have such a package already?…
Thanks – no I have the offer but not the full package details yet…so wnated to know where to benchmark myself. You are very much correct re the structuring skill combined with the relationship/ closing/ deal skills.. that was key to fulfilling the criteria for the role.
