Question: I have done MBA & currently working in Retail banking,iam interested to move to investment banking.

Iam not getting shortlisted for interview because of current package is less.i have good fundamental knowledge and little experiance on investment product.

  1. Firstly, investment banking is a misleading term…it’s not even investments nor banking. Secondly, you need to sharpen your attention to details which bankers pay a lot emphasis. For instance, the spelling of experience is spelled wrongly.

  2. There are tons of CVs by ex-employees of Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan, why would an employer pick you? I would recommend you convince your bank to move you from retail banking to capital markets. Make a good case and be ready to take a serious step down and salary cut.
