I noticed RBS has a recruitment drive at the moment is it best to stay clear or consider? i.e. They are having a hard time in the media would this have an impact on future employment in terms of banking reputation? Would you still consider working for them?

From what I have heard they are recruiting selectively and from BB / Tier-1 only. Therefore unless you are a top performer at one of those firms and you are about to get fired I wouldn’t even bother asking this question

Stay away like the plague! Even in the good times it was a horrid place to be (talking about 135 Bishiopsgate in particular) with arrogance and incpompetence the norm. Furthermore, it pays badly, you can’t trust anyone, and even the canteen staff are rude!!!!!! Seriously – go anywhere but there….a job at McDonalds would be more pleasurable….nothing do with their reputation – simple fact is it will be an awful experience for you that no amount of money can compensate for….
