Question: does meeting with recruiters/headhunters enhances your chances of being shortlisted ?

  1. No it does not….you will get standard answer “if we have anything suitable will get back to you”..

    Employers these days do not prefer recruitment and surely not through agencies as cost of recruiting increases.

    If you are in UAE searching job please do not waste time…learnt from personal experience.

  2. Very often CVs get lost in a pile or are in someone’s inbox somewhere. How many times do you read somethin on your Blackberry with the intention of getting back to it later, but because it is marked as read you forget to later on.
    Therefore meeting people in person is always a good way. If there are 20 good candidates but he’s met one in person he’s more likely to rember that person.
    Recruiters aside, especially in this climate, personal contacts will get you a lot further in your search. In my experience, this applies on all levels, in all locations.
