Graduate of Warwick (math&econ) with four years of TS/ M&A in big4 and I’m bored (despite surprisingly good deal flow)! Rarely challenged save for odd complex leveraged model.
Next move into PE/ HF…
How feasible is move to hedge fund given BSc and experience? What role can I expect?
Grateful for any thoughts/ comments/ opinions.

are you a qualified accountant?, if you are then Private Equity if not then Hedge funds
More likely to move into PE firm, though competition at the moment is tough, given that many M&A/LBO bankers are out on the street following round of redundancies… For HF you ideally need market exposure/knowledge, which you don’t have, otherwise, you would need to convince them that you are passionate about the markets, and show how this is so…but for this one, it may be harder to crack into a good HF. Start-up HF may however be willing to take you on…
IMO there are plenty of event driven funds that would take you on. In terms of PE, that isn’t my area, so not sure.
PE.
HF, u’ll need to be techically good, unless u’re willing to go in at low level.
