  1. Not even a reply in 30 applications or so (in my core competencies industry). This is probably too popular, any job offer receives thousands of cv.

  2. Most of the jobs advertised are filled before they reach the site!

  3. I may have applied over 100 jobs but havnt received any response yet. Even during the good times, it wasnt quite successful. I think in general, just applying online doesnt work. One needs to be creative in reaching out to the headhunters.

  4. yes i agree, has anyone written a detailed cover letter when applying? or have you just sent the standard cover letter?

  5. I think Sayamustafa is right,one needs to be a little more creative,more than 50 applications and nothing yet!

  9. No replies in my core area even in the good times (except where I knew someone at the firm). I probably sent out 30 resumes with personalized/customized cover letters.

    I knew a couple firms that had postings here and elsewhere. The first 50 resumes they stop….go through, then if they don’t find what they like another 50. On this site like others online, they get 500 within the first 3 days and 1000 a week.

    I got my job through referral, which is the only thing that works now.

  10. My experience is also not different ( so is for my friends). No response for applications made through EFC, though the job profile matched fully with the candidate’ profile.

    EFC need to give serious attention to it. All the applications received till the closing date, EFC Officials need to evaluate and shortlist about 10-15, which the employer can have a look at and decide. If this is done by EFC, it will add to the credibility of EFC with the employer that they get the best profiles and from job seekers that useful purpose is served in applying through EFC; failing to do this by EFC will eventually result in gradual death of the site as “Job Site”
