Lunchtime Links: BofA Merrill wants to grow commodities headcount by 25%

Things are happening at BofA Merrill’s commodities division. Fresh from hiring Patrick Sciamma, formerly of Dresdner, as global head of complex commodities options, Ian McKie from ‘a hedge fund’ as managing director and global head of carbon emissions, and Thierry Groell from RBS Sempra as head of Emea corporate energy sales and oil origination, Financial News reports that BofA Merrill wants to increase headcount in its commodities business by 25% globally.

The hiring plans have apparently already been signed off by Tom Montag, so may even be implemented soon. Other commodities hirers du jour include Nomura and Credit Suisse.

  1. RBS Sempra is a pretty strange kind of engineering firm. Shoddy work.

  2. @Thierry – sorry – on Linked In, the order of employment gives the impression that the most recent position was at OCL Regeneration. On further examination you’re right – the most recent full time position was at RBS Sempra.

  3. Sarah, you need to get acquainted with the FSA register. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy to find out where people have worked in the past…..
